Spring 11

The look Lanvin’s spring 11 range was sophisticated and elegant and employed sporty cuts and beautiful fabrications.

Key pieces Elegant asymmetric gowns with billowing soft pleated skirts were closer to works of art than garments. Designer Alber Elvaz focused on simple details such as a yellow button fastening on a cropped black blazer to deep-cut sporty shoulder details on dresses with full ballet skirts.

Commercial appeal The clever cutting and simple shapes could be interpreted by retailers such as of Cos, while Karen Millen and short-order womenswear brands will plug into Lanvin’s body-con look.

Footwear and accessories Simple cuffs sat just below the elbow while an interesting leather belt and braces design was used to fasten a bow tie around the neck.
