Lanvin

Spring 12

The look Designers Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver played with the concept of a man’s wardrobe as a uniform, resulting in a collection that evolved from strict modernity to colourful soft tailoring and an updated military feel.

Key pieces Elongated T-shirts and colour-block sectioned shirts updated simple basics, while minimalist boxy outerwear brought a utilitarian edge. Dropped shoulders gave colourful sb jackets new volume while db options were teamed with slim shorts. A military feel was noted on jackets and frock coats, worn with ethnic-inspired print trousers.

Colours Charcoal, burgundy and midnight blue contrasted with crisp neutrals and mid-tone brights such as saxe blue, old gold and watermelon red.

Commercial appeal The military flourish may prove an interesting summer trend for the youth market.
