This was an inspiring development of chief creative officer Christopher Bailey’s triumphant spring 10 collection. Best were the shearling jackets which came in both cropped versions or with oversized collars. A series of double-breasted brass-buttoned pea coats with zip details also stood out and parkas and military-style overcoats suggested autumn will be a massive outerwear season. Meanwhile, ruffled velvet dresses and pencil skirts provided some evening sophistication. The palette was warm, led by olive, khaki, berry tones, purple and chocolate.
