Burberry Prorsum

Spring 11

The look Racy biker chicks marched down the catwalk in skinny leather jodhpurs with quilted panels and python details and studded armour-like biker jackets. Chief creative officer Christopher Bailey made biker the focus of the collection but the effect was hit or miss.

Key pieces A selection of classic and shortened trench coats with leather arms, leather piping or patching was a good stab at updating Burberry’s heritage items. Coloured animal print dresses and tops were the newest thing on offer.

Commercial appeal Overall this was disappointing, largely because studded biker jackets have been done to death in recent seasons. Better were the animal prints.

Footwear and accessories High-heeled, biker-detail stilettos caused one model to stack it on the catwalk.
