Spring 11

The look Regal, ladylike and conservative silhouettes met Japanese tattoo art in neon leather and feminine fabrication.

Key pieces Neon leather was cut so intricately it gave the illusion of being lace. Pieces featuring this technique, such as the pink leather sleeveless tank top and the box-pleated knee-length lace skirt twinned with a formal jacket, stood out. Knee-length dresses with high demure necklines had flat pleats and came in coral or with Japanese-style prints.

Commercial appeal The show was brilliantly unique, so it is likely the high street will jump on all-over lace and Japanese prints for spring 11. Knee-length hemlines look fresh and are given even more contemporary appeal in neon.

Footwear and accessories Geisha-style platform soles featured in neon colours and were tied with thin strings up the ankle.
