Spring 12

The look High drama throughout, as floor-sweeping gowns and feathered headdresses sashayed to a haunting classical soundtrack.

Key pieces Swans were referenced throughout the show, worked into blown-out silk prints on cocktail dresses trimmed with ostrich feathers. High-waisted pencil skirts in laser-cut silver leather stood out, as did a full skirted nude dress. The collection also presented metallic silver tailoring, high-waisted trousers and sheer blouses.

Colours Black, white, red, metallic and nude.

Commercial appeal Giles’ collection did not fit neatly within the overall trends for London, which may isolate it come spring 12. The swan-print dresses proved the most commercial, and the laser cuts hinted at a key trend for the season. The all-over metallics will be harder to wear.
