Spring 11

The look The LFW veteran emphasised the importance of fabrication for spring 11 in his use of tweed, tulle and silk. Dresses fell off the shoulder and had drop waists while layers of tulle provided full skirts. The palette focused on black, white and cream.

Key pieces Black doily dresses had structured underskirts. White and cream bias-cut maxi dresses in sheer fabrics came with cutaway details and exposed corsets.

Commercial appeal Layered skirts are spring 11 winners, as are soft shape and deconstructed dresses. The variety of silhouettes makes for an interesting collection, with slimline and full-skirted shapes.

Footwear and accessories Headwear was important, with ruffled silk and lace wide-brim hats. Shoes were buckled on the side and open toed with cuffed leather straps.
