Jonathan Saunders

Spring 11

The look Prim shirts and full skirts, bold botanical prints and spray paint-effect stripes were used throughout. Skirts were belted. White contrasted with bright orange, sky blue, sunflower yellow and mint green.

Key pieces Wide short-sleeved shirts were tucked into box-pleated skirts and fastened with skinny belts. The closing dress with a sweetheart neckline, mesh décolletage and black full-pleated skirt with a shiny trim stood out.

Commercial appeal This was a well-rounded, cohesive collection with eye-catching elements. Spray-paint detail may sound messy but Saunders managed to make the bright colours and youthful fresh direction look sophisticated and very relevant.

Footwear and accessories Pumps were feminine with pointed lasts. Fabric ankle straps injected a dainty feel.
