Julien Macdonald

Autumn 10

Julien Macdonald headed firmly back to his knitwear roots for autumn 10 with the chunkiest knits seen at LFW this season. Jackets, jumpers and coats were so thick and cosy that they were accessorised with just knee-high boots, reinforcing the notion that knitwear as outerwear will be a big trend for autumn 10. In stark contrast to the winter knits were flimsy, spider web-like dresses - those in pink and black could have easily been mistaken for nightwear - while the midnight blue and black versions were teamed with cropped jackets.
