London Fashion Week: Jonathan Saunders

There was a retro drama to Saunders’ offering, all glamorous 1950s silhouettes celebrating the buxom female form, but given a kinky twist with belted waists
and sex shop bustiers.

Off-the-shoulder dresses came with bra straps and cups naughtily peeking out, followed by strappy knee-length dresses trimmed with coiling vinyl florals, contrasted by simple mannish 4db coats and deep V-neck sweaters in fuzzy mohairs. His signature prints were gone but his deft colour play remained, mixing murky greens and mustards with hits of pink, orange, blue and red.

In short Glam 1950s dresses in wools and mohairs sexed up with contrasting patent-style vinyl. All very pretty, but it missed the magic of previous seasons.
