London Fashion Week Preview: Claire Barrow

Having only shown her graduate collection in May this year, this talented youngster has been quickly taken under the wing of Lulu Kennedy and her talent incubation scheme Fashion East.

Barrow’s painted leather jackets have earned her a dedicated following (resulting in collaborations with luxury brand Joseph and pop star Rihanna), but for her first full collection she is expanding her talents. “It’s clothing heavily decorated with illustration, but I have branched out from the signature leather, printing and painting onto other things,” she says. “It’s been hard work, but that’s great. You have to fully grasp opportunities like this because it’s an honour to be involved.” With Barrow showing alongside other rising stars Maarten van der Horst and Ryan Lo, Fashion East promises to be a highlight this season.
