Luxurious 1970s glamour via the local Chinese takeaway - that’s Holly Fulton’s starting point this season. Whatever could this mean?
What were your key inspirations?
Spring 14 started with the thought of 1970s New York and our lady grabbing a Chinese takeaway en route to
Studio 54. That cheeky takeaway has fed through into an oriental vibe, re-imagined with the label’s signature graphics and detailing.
What are the key items?
The 1970s vibe leads us into an A-line silhouette with the focus on volume. Key pieces focus on outerwear and the hand-crafted items. There’s always strong attention to detail but this season I wanted it to be more luxurious and special than ever before.
What are the key fabrics?
We have some exciting fabrications that stray from the norm. Silks and neoprenes will form the basis of the range, with assorted wovens and technical finishes incorporated.
How has it been creating this collection?
Things evolve and change and it’s often this that throws up the most exciting last-minute ideas. We always cut it fine to get finished, but that’s part of the fun.
