London Fashion Week

The key trends from LFW.

Fabric fusion

At the shows there was an abundance of melded or mixed textile combinations. It was a case of expect the unexpected, as latex sat alongside brocade and lace alongside leather, signalling a refreshingly playful attitude to fabrics.

Green scene

While rusty oranges have been grabbing all the trade show headlines, at London green was the standout colour. Forest and moss tones dominated, while limes and chartreuse shades added brighter highlights.

Pretty in print

The bolder the better was the print theme for some, with pixelated graphics, digital florals and painterly designs all having a moment. Watch out for the growing trend for houndstooth, which is updated with colour and clashing combinations.

Pump up the volume

For autumn 12 oversized doesn’t just mean boxier, it also means volume, as down-filled, sports-influenced jackets sauntered down the catwalk looking chic and cosy. Drapers particularly loved the Peter Pilotto cropped version.
