Matthew Williamson

Spring 11

The look The collection lacked the bubbly handwriting so often exhibited in his collections but it was refreshing to see some variety and a mature new direction.

Key pieces Williamson worked with a much more paired down palette for spring 11, though some holiday brights still featured. Safari shades of cream and khaki featured on tight ruffle-layered miniskirts and wide scoop-neck jackets while fringed skirts and printed silk scarves came in indigo.

Commercial appeal This collection was wearable and accessible, featuring commercial separates on top of the beautiful dresses for which Williamson is known.

Footwear and accessories Towering pale wood platforms worked well, adding a youthful feel to the collection.
