Meadham Kirchoff

Spring 11

The look A dark romanticism was played out as lace and ruffles in a sweet palette of pink and red clashed with grungy oversized fluoro T-shirts and graffiti-scrawled jackets with a patina shine.

Key pieces A red dress with layered ruffle skirts had volume and drama. Bow fastenings on the neckline of tops in hand-embroidered lace stood out, while a high-shine red, neon yellow and blue graphic-print jacket nodded to a grunge trend.

Commercial appeal The spring 11 collection from Meadham Kirchhoff wasn’t commercial but the broader grunge influences and use of juxtaposing feminine details will inspire high street collections.

Footwear and accessories Lurex knitted trousers and socks were worn with chunky strapped sandals decorated with glitter and sequins. Ruffled lace cuffs adorned wrists.
