Spring 11

The look Crisp and clean. Up-and-coming designer Osman produced a collection that was a fine example of how simple designs executed via intelligent pattern cutting can be as exciting as collections which employ bundles of surface texture and detail.

Key pieces Tailored pieceswere curved, so tops circled the body at the hip, or shirts fell long and circled the knees. Simple pieces stood out, like cotton dresses.

Commercial appeal Not bucketloads of commercial appeal here. Nicole Farhi and Margaret Howell do minimalist at lower prices. Osman Yousefzada’s pattern cutting tips his collection into very pricey territory.

Footwear and accessories Shoes were simple, with closed-up courts and shoe boots in white featuring delicate peep toes.
