Peter Pilotto

Long lines and a sort of minimalism.

The look Long lines and a sort of minimalism - albeit it with Peter Pilotto’s trademark use of pattern - dominated this strong collection.

Key pieces Beautiful coats that hit mid-calf worn over long-line wide-legged trousers led the way. Some coats were sleeveless, while some trousers were covered in a checked pattern or had clever insert pleats running down the front that stopped before the hem, giving them great movement. A series of glamorous dresses had cut-outs in unusual positions, such as the back of the legs or around the neckline, to reveal glimpses of skin. Pilotto also took the classic blue work shirt and fashioned it into dresses.

Commercial appeal This was a very wearable collection, although the designer needs to do more to build his profile with consumers to help drive sales. The fabric used and skilled cutting means prices are likely to be high.
