Richard Nicoll

Spring 12

The look A snapshot of the future from a 1960s perspective – think The Jetsons dusted in a cloud of baby blue.

Key pieces Sculptural neoprene jackets and T-shirts opened the collection with a scuba-sportswear feel, alongside clear plastic and wet-look PVC items that were layered over other pieces. Simple boxy dresses and jackets came with wired circular hems for a futuristic feel. The collection took a more feminine turn with floaty frills and sheer-panelled Lurex twin sets.

Colours Shades of blue from dusted tones through to cornflower and aqua, as well as powder pink, soft grey and black.

Commercial appeal While the pastel tones tick spring 12’s colour trend, Nicoll’s see-through, wet-look PVC and sculptural hemmed pieces will prove hard to wear.
