Spring 11


French women’s premium footwear brand Repetto delivers an on-trend palette for spring 11 with cream, tan and navy tones. Key styles are a peep-toe ankle boot with a slight wedge in cream leather and a ballerina flat with suede, patent and leather panels. Other styles include a patent leather jazz shoe with a mid-height T-bar.

David Longshaw

Winner of this year’s British Fashion Council and Elle Talent Launch Pad, premium womenswear designer David Longshaw’s bold illustrations are digitally printed onto silk and crêpe de chine. Shift dresses are decorated with feathers, and fabric on skirts is manipulated to create folds with petal-like qualities.

Georgina Goodman

Making its Exhibition debut this season, luxury footwear brand Georgina Goodman focuses on chunky heels and wedges with cut-outs and abstract angles. Soft leathers are mixed with canvas, while neutral creams and dusty metallics contrast with hot pink shades. Fuchsia uppers on a cork wedge sole stand out.

Based in London, Finnish-born designer Julia Lundsten’s Finks footwear label is inspired by architecture and furniture with an emphasis on structural elements. Key styles in her spring 11 footwear collection include a leather peep-toe wedge with ruched detail, a round-toe court shoe with platform and contrast heel and a wooden wedge with three-dimensional heel.

Nsha Atelier

New for spring 11, Nsha Atelier uses silks, cotton and crêpe chiffon to underpin its directional womenswear. Sheer knits and multicoloured shirt dresses have cutaways on the sleeves and back. Deconstructed cropped jackets, asymmetric shirt dresses and silk cocktail dresses come in lime green, purple and cobalt blue along with black and cream.

Hailing from the Netherlands, Made launched in the UK exclusively at designer independent Browns for autumn 10. Now looking for more stockists, the premium womenswear brand serves up silk dresses in peppermint and chartreuse with coffee and taupe trousers and all-in-ones. Fabric belts draw in the waist on shift dresses and tunics.

Premium women’s casualwear label U is in its third season. It offers deconstructed sportswear including jersey shorts, collared T-shirts and a silk modal and jersey jacket. Wide-neck T-shirts and racer-back vests in fine-gauge cottons and cotton/silk mixes also feature. The palette is predominantly grey and navy with blush pink and cerise as highlight colours.

Clemency London

Dominated by leather and silk, contemporary womenswear brand Clemency London’s spring 11 offer has a rock ‘n’ roll feel fusing black, white and olive green. Leather is fashioned into trousers, shorts, gilets and shift dresses with accentuated shoulders. A sheer blouse with silk collar stands out, as does a biker jacket.

Evil Twin

Inspired by grunge and punk, Evil Twin’s spring womenswear is heavily ripped, slashed and distressed. Leopard prints and stripes are used on oversized jersey and cotton shirts and T-shirts with asymmetric hemlines. Pirate and skull motifs features on tops. Highlights include a mesh-back tunic T-shirt and printed denim shorts.

Now in its second season, premium accessories label George Angelopoulos’s essential item for spring 11 is a leather envelope clutch embellished with solid brass pieces and available in an array of sizes. A stingray clutch occupies the top end of the range and men’s holdalls are also on offer. All pieces are made in Italy.

Kate Sheridan

Launched in autumn 10, bag brand Kate Sheridan offers new fabrics and colours for spring 11, including a wax cotton range. An on-trend backpack with drawstring and buckle fastening catches the eye. A shopper bag is also offered in the same khaki colour with chocolate brown piping. Geometric patterns feature on canvas totes in various sizes.

Featuring digital prints based on vintage clothing and surrealism, its T-shirts and dresses in silk jersey are made in the UK. Chiffon silk blouses are new for spring 11.
