Spring 12

The look Egyptian pharaoh goddess meets streetwear queen.

Key pieces A riot of graffiti-style hieroglyphics and Egyptian-themed prints stood out across the collection owned by Topshop, covering everything from oversized jumpers, hoodies and jog pants to mid-length tube dresses, see-through rain jackets and full dirndl skirts. Metallics were also key, coming through on leather athletic shorts and Lurex knits, or as foil-printed patterns. Jumpers covered with an oversized print of Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra were talking points.

Colours Monochrome, metallic gold, vivid turquoise, pale rose and soft denim blue.

Commercial appeal The prints and urban sports feel tick the trend boxes and will appeal to Unique’s younger, fashion-forward shopper. Liz Taylor jumpers will be high street hits.
