The look This collection made multiple trend statements for autumn 11, with stripes, checks and reworked animal prints alongside high-shine silk satins, velvet and fur trims. Ponchos and jumper dresses as well as long-line cardigans had commercial appeal, as did pinstripe tailoring.

Key pieces Knitwear was key. Black velvet skirts and dresses closed the show, and will be on trend for autumn 11. High-shine fabrics and metallic yarns were important, notably on silk taffeta dresses.

Commercial appeal This was a very wearable collection from Vivienne Westwood’s diffusion line. The maroon, gold and blue stripes were classic Westwood. Checks have been repeatedly seen for autumn 11, so the check and tartan skirts and blazers will also be bang on trend for the season.
