Vivienne Westwood Red Label

Spring 12

The look A pick-and-mix of typical Westwood trademarks: tartan, tailoring and slinky dresses with an eccentric sculptural twist.

Key pieces Tailoring including blazers, blouses, pencil skirts and slim trousers given the Westwood treatment, including bold tartans, waterfall lapels, ruched ruffles and deep dropped crotches. Dresses came with a simple Grecian feel. A bold red ballgown brought eveningwear glamour with tiered layers of tulle, while a voluminous taupe jumpsuit also stood out.

Colours Soft greys, taupes, blacks and pale blues meant the collection was slightly more wearable than previous seasons, while a hit of red and mustard print added colour.

Commercial appeal This was quintessentially Westwood, and will appeal to core customers who love her look. The simpler colour palette may help sell more pieces.
