After the cacophony of colour and youthful looks from Louis Vuitton in spring 10, designer Marc Jacobs took the label in a sophisticated and womanly direction for autumn 10. The demure day dressing harked back to the late 1950s/early 1960s. It was almost a one-note show, with the full-skirted dress arriving with either corseted tops or plunging V-necks, and circle skirts hitting just below the knee or at calf length. Atop these dresses and skirts were shrunken tailored jackets, form-fitting redingotes and neat sweaters. For evening it was out-and-out ballgown glamour.
