Louis Vuitton

Spring 12

The look A smartly tailored traveller on a sporty safari, with ethnic influences taken from the label’s new menswear designer Kim Jones’ childhood in Kenya.

Key pieces Outerwear was dominant, with options including sporty Harringtons and varsity blousons, hooded windcheaters, four-pocket safari jackets, a classic trench and luxury parka. Casual sb blazers were teamed with summer shorts or rolled trousers, relaxed ties or collarless shirts. Pattern was strong, with the label’s signature Damier check in bold blue and red, inspired by the African Masai tribe.

Colours Sun-bleached sandy neutrals alongside classic white and navy, with pops of bright red and royal blue.

Commercial appeal A refreshing direction. The ethnic traveller touches and sporty outerwear pieces should make their mark on the high street.
