Milan Fashion Week: Gucci

What a difference a season makes. From dark and moody for autumn 12 to this, possibly the most blindingly bright collection of the week, Frida Giannini likes to keep us on our toes.

The saturated blocked colours were intense – cerise, coral, aquamarine, canary and the best attempt at Yves Klein blue in a long while. The tones were applied to graceful fluted-sleeve gowns, wide trousers and tunic tops, some with frilly detailing down shoulders or arms. Decorative without being fussy, the collection dabbled in Asian-inspired print before closing with a monochrome finish of elegant eveningwear.

In short Bold colour will undoubtedly be a big trend come spring while the elongated silhouette will find fans young and old.
