Milan Fashion Week: Marni

“More clean, more fresh, more light,” was founder and chief designer Consuelo Castiglioni’s take on her spring 13 collection, and she was right.

It still had that solid feeling Marni collections always have (and by ‘solid’ we mean based on something tangible and honest) but pushed the label into new territory. The prints on which the label is built were still there but Castiglioni made room for simply shaped, block-coloured pieces. Even the block-printed looks were free from ornamentation as the show explored a subdued palette set against pure white. Clean, fresh and light then.

In short This Marni collection will be a winner in store and will ‘inspire’ more simple and peplum silhouettes.
