Milan Fashion Week: MaxMara

MaxMara’s pared down autumn 11 collection displayed a large array of outerwear with clean lines and neutral colours giving the range a simple modern feel.

Jackets came in all varieties including knee-length belted jackets with funnel collars, leather trenches, and drawstring hoodies. Finer detailing such as fringing, leather buckle straps, fur panels and trims gave an added element to the minimal silhouettes.

Alongside the coats MaxMara too showcased cable-knit jumpers and dresses and skirts made with mohair or patterned fur. Adding a traditional touch to the modern collection tartan was also used on outerwear and strapless gowns. The colour palette was kept simple with neutral creams, greys, white and black.
