Pushed-up sleeves, pumped-up shoulders and punchy fabrication characterised Donatella’s collection.
It was a bit of a mash-up: macro giraffe-patterned tailoring sat alongside roomy jacket and jeans combos in shiny leather were interspersed with graffitied denim jackets and lingerie-style slips and shorts. In a way it was a throwback to the Versace of Donatella’s brother, only with slightly less sheen and polish. But behind the showier elements were super-sharp db blazers with exaggerated shoulders, a great selection of leather bombers and bikers, and a wave of dramatic longer-line coats.
In short While the MC Hammer trousers and puffy blousons aren’t for everyone, there was enough to suggest it’ll sell well.
