Bottega Veneta, Spring 13
Tomas Maier has never compromised on any aspect of his collections for Bottega Veneta, and season after season this is evident not only in the quality of the fabrics and leathers but also the exacting standards he applies to detail, finish and cut. And spring 13 was no different. Softly structured tailoring pieces were dotted around which, combined with bohemian overhead laced tunics and jersey tops, put the whole collection at ease. As with Richard Nicoll in London, leather played a part but this time as suede. The palette – browns, greys, blues and whites – was more subdued than at other Milan shows.
In short The beautiful tailoring and relaxed silhouette should filter down to the high street even if the luxe fabrics don’t.
