Milan Menswear: Etro

Etro, Spring 13

Etro marched through India, as turban-topped maharajas sauntered down the catwalk in a colourful, printed haze. The silhouette was loose and airy, as dressing gown-style coats, collarless knee-length tunic tops and silk flared trousers billowed. Exotic summer pieces were layered over or under neat sb, db and tuxedo blazers, alongside hints of military by way of officer jackets decorated with frogging. Jewelled colours – ruby, emerald, sapphire and amber, finishing in crisp white – came decorated with paisleys and madras prints that were layered print on print.

In short The Etro man is louche and breezy for spring 13 but may not appeal to everyone. The deft use of print however is sure to trickle through.
