Salvatore Ferragamo, Spring 13
Only three pairs of sunglasses were seen on the models in this show, which seems tantamount to abuse, so retina-burning were the colours. But that’s not to say the colours were unwelcome – their vibrancy made this one of Milan’s standout shows. Creative director Massimiliano Giornetti clearly wasn’t feeling the more subdued vibe seen at other shows, as his collection offered punch and verve. Sportiness was key, with trainers worn throughout, as it lent a softness to the tailoring and jackets. The zingy shades made way for more painterly pastels on suiting, providing relief for onlookers’ eyes.
In short The co-ordinated mayhem of colour will be popular for braver souls and the outerwear and knits should inspire.
