Missoni

Spring 12

The look A troupe of Flamenco-dancing party girls.

Key pieces Flamenco-style asymmetric midi-length dresses anchored the collection, featuring fringed, frilled and ruffled hems and tiers that danced as the models strutted. Off-the-shoulder sweaters were also key in loose airy knits, alongside pencil skirts and slim trousers. Clashing prints and patterns stood out, with tiger stripes and palm-tree designs.

Colours A riot of colour included vivid yellow, orange, fuchsia and a sea of blues from cobalt through to aqua.

Commercial appeal The bold Flamenco style set this Missoni collection apart from the major themes seen so far this season, but the artisanal detailing and handcrafted feel confirmed a strong commercial trend also seen at the likes of Burberry Prorsum and Bottega Veneta.
