Spring 12

The look Matador met gypsy as Moschino brought back the Western.

Key pieces Fringing was key, seen on ponchos and skirts and decorating suede jackets for the Western vibe, complete with the signature Moschino cowboy hat. Heavily embellished matador jackets and Chanel-style tweeds were blended with stylised monochrome florals, while floral appliqué trimmed satin skirts. Wraparound ruffle dresses added to the gypsy aesthetic.

Colours Black, white and gold, highlighted by saturated yellow.

Commercial appeal Lace versions of the matador jacket will be more desirable and wearable than embellished options. The gypsy ruffle dresses and blouses are sure to have more commercial weight than the heavily fringed suede, although fringing will be a definite for the younger market.
