Narciso Rodriguez

Narciso Rodriguez played with geometrics and panelling, mixed colours and fabrics, and used folds to create structure on coats.

The look Narciso Rodriguez played with geometrics and panelling, mixed colours and fabrics, and used folds to create structure on coats. Sheer overlays featured on dresses and were toughened up when teamed with flat riding boots. A monochrome palette was enlivened with plums, lilac and red.

Key pieces A purple suede jacket with large rectangle panelling over the chest stood out, as did a coral and black dress with a printed sheer overlay, and a black, sharp-shouldered reversible woollen coat.

Commercial appeal Panelling is nothing new, but Rodriguez used it as a theme rather than a detail. The overall look, although sometimes quite aggressive, can be broken down into wearable pieces and offers some great examples of colour blocking for the season ahead.
