Alexander Wang must be hoping for a seriously cold spell for autumn, if his models mummified in wool were anything to go on.
It’s a shame that much of the collection seemed to attract attention for its overly-long furry arms and excessive head gear, when at its heart was what Wang does best - truly wearable pieces. Fluffy wool jumpers with shiny quilted panels and reimagined biker-style jackets with billowing shoulders stood out. Sportier pieces such as silvery dresses with structured neck and hemlines also illustrated the classic Wang wearability.
In short An exercise in how to over-shadow yourself with some unnecessarily exaggerated pieces. However, the separates did enough to excite buyers.
