New York Fashion Week: Lacoste

Reconsidering and recontextualising sportswear has always been part of Lacoste’s DNA, so it was no surprise to see Felipe Oliveira Baptista riff on its tennis heritage.

But forget cutesy pleated dresses and Pat Cash sweatbands - this was pumped up more than Rafa Nadal on match point as voluminous sleeves, dropped shoulders and boxy silhouettes dominated. Highlights of green, orange and cobalt livened up the muted palette and gave vibrancy to a look that was minimal save for some mineral-esque prints, sheer Latex and map-like patterns, *cough* Christopher Raeburn *cough*.

In short A touch less commercial than previous seasons but should influence the more accessible Live! line nicely.
