The New York Fashion week catwalk served up a feast of autumn 11 collections over the weekend with Victoria Beckham showcasing her sixth collection, Alexander Wang mixing smart with casual, Tommy Hilfiger turning bohemian and Diane Von Furstenberg heading to the Wild West.
Victoria Beckham injected her autumn 11 collection with a fruity pop of colour with dresses coming in magenta, scarlet and yellow. Pieces included swinging trapeze dresses, shirts dresses and cashmere sacks as well as full length pleated dresses. The 29 piece collection included her 100th dress which was a saffron knee-length with a zip down the spine.
Beckham also introduced outerwear to her collection with coats coming in taupes, black and red. Each outfit was completed with boots and footwear from a new collaboration with Christian Louboutin.
Diane von Furstenberg
Diane von Furstenberg’s autumn 11 collection gave a nod to the Wild West with knee high suede boots, wide brimmed hats and fringing. Classic wrap dresses in bold prints too played a part with other pieces including jumpsuits and sequined gowns. Colour was key to the collection with one top-to-toe royal blue outfit, complete with blue belt, bag and boots.
Casualwear met formalwear in Alexander Wang’s autumn 11 catwalk show. Garments included tuxedo trousers zipped open on the sides to reveal tracksuit trousers on the inside and peacoat shaped puffa jackets. The evening section showcased sheer blouses and smocks complete with cumberbands. The colour palette was predominantly black with hints of light with white, grey and nude.
