Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta shunned the minimalist look of past seasons, opening the door to Arabic patterns and a rich Moroccan influence.

The look Oscar de la Renta shunned the minimalist look of past seasons, opening the door to Arabic patterns and a rich Moroccan influence. Fur was an overriding presence throughout, with fox-fur trims on coats, dresses, skirts and hats. Red and green remained core colours, while aubergine and maroon sat alongside black and white.

Key pieces A fox-fur print dress, a hooded coat trimmed with fox fur, a gold textured blazer and matching wide-leg trouser were key, as was a floor-sweeping silk black tiered evening dress.

Commercial appeal Fur - both real and faux - has abounded in the autumn 11 catwalks, and was employed here as a trim on hemlines and hoods. The chunky woven textile designs looked fresh and are sure to catch on.
