Paris Fashion Week: Chanel

Never one to mince his messages, this season Karl Lagerfeld positioned the Chanel show around a large globe, with flags placed where Chanel stores are located in different countries.

Whether he’s on top of the world remains to be seen, but the confidence of the man is undeniable. It seemed a shame then that there wasn’t more going on in the collection. Chanel is about the intricacy of texture and it’s only up close that you get a true sense of the craftsmanship, but even so, despite some interesting silhouettes it felt more like a collection that was fine, but not dazzling.

In short After an energetic season at Fendi, perhaps one hoped for more excitement from Lagerfeld’s Chanel.
