Paris Fashion Week - Céline

Classic with a twist - a hackneyed phrase but the perfect way to kick off a review of Céline’s spring 13 show as Phoebe Philo sent out a collection of poise and fluidity with twisted and crumpled elements.

The twists across the chest and up the neck were the theme’s most obvious manifestation but it was the creased silks that underpinned the show. Blocks of black and muted grey, ecru and dusty pink provided the palette of a collection whose hemlines extended from knee to lower shin. The furry heels and Birkenstock-style sandals were slightly incongruous.

In short A clean Céline collection (quelle surprise) that boasted a crumpled effect that will be lost among the grander spring 13 statements.
