Paris Fashion Week - Lanvin

Alber Elbaz sent his models down the catwalk in a sexy procession of black before lightening and brightening up his show for the final nine looks with an assortment of lustrous jewel tones.

Slashes, exposed shoulders, voiles and deep V-necks all hinted at flesh but with the touch of class that is Elbaz’s signature. There was a sense that garments were tied and tucked rather than sewn, which gave the overall look a sensual elegance. Riffs on Le Smoking cropped up but weren’t too hard while Elbaz’s accentuation of the waist mixed with fluid boxy pieces kept everyone on their toes.

In short It’s commercial, but imitators will find it hard to achieve the je ne sais quoi Elbaz’s collections are imbued with.
