What’s cooler than being cool? Ice cold.
Or rather, ice white, as Maison Martin Margiela demonstrated to devastatingly nonchalant effect. Models slouched down the catwalk in laidback drawstring pants, sleeveless blazers and ribbed corduroy vests, all in luxurious textures and varying hues of white, white, white. But it wasn’t all icy minimalism. An air of rock star glamour was heightened by intricate waistcoats and overcoats composed out of souvenir badges. There were also glam metallic loafers and narrow-leg trousers cut in tour T-shirt prints.
In short A collection that seemed to suggest glacial froideur from a distance, but gave off rock star decadence up close.
