Paris Menswear: Mugler

Monochrome was (mostly) the order of the day at Nicola Formichetti’s Mugler show, where the aquatic-inspired ensembles went from purest white to neon coral to summer sea blue.

But the overall effect was far from wishy-washy, with wet-look leather trench coats and shimmering ‘jellyfish’ fabrics offset by sharp tailoring and luxurious snakeskin accents. The prominent use of stark cut-out detailing was perhaps better suited to the beach than the high street, but the minimal silhouettes and wearable summer colour palette are much more likely to make the transition.

In short A refreshingly wearable collection that looks set to have serious commercial appeal.
