Roberto Cavalli

Spring 12

The look Roberto Cavalli likes to play by his own rules, and he proved this again with a tribal warrior princess theme.

Key pieces Among the obligatory leopard-print panels and metallic gold-fringed dresses, the strongest pieces were the brighter prints and tailored collarless jackets. Highlights included a sheer and gold-sequined maxi with tuxedo blazer and a lace and floral panel maxi.

Colours Black, white and gold littered with a few pastels and stronger hues in the silk prints.

Commercial appeal Being OTT doesn’t faze Cavalli, but some elements would have benefitted from being stripped down in line with some of the more minimal silhouettes coming through for spring. The maxi gowns with sheer panels and deep V backs will make a strong statement in eveningwear.
