Roberto Cavalli

Autumn 12

It was classic Cavalli excess this season (think more is more, with a little more), as Roberto turned up the glamour for a luxe collection covered with fur and snakeskin, whether real or as trompe l’oeil prints, covered in sequins, sequins and more sequins. It was a rock ’n’ roll take on glamour in parts, opening with cheeky puffball skirts and boxy T-shirts topped with casual baseball caps. This moved into full-length fur maxi skirts, bomber jackets featuring fluffy fur sleeves, and smart tailored looks with sleek flared trousers and blazers, sometimes with flowing tuxedo lapels or built-up power woman shoulders. Then came grungy full-length looks trimmed with ruffled peplums topped off with supermodel Naomi Campbell taking the final walk, finishing off a collection that was just the right mix of classy and trashy.
