The look Little House on the Prairie was reincarnated in Rodarte’s collection of neatly pressed collars, crochet skirts and over-the-knee circle skirts.
It was anything but dowdy, as subtle sexiness was added via exposed shoulders, décolletages and nipped-in waists. Cream, vanilla and lemon were broken up with sky blue and crimson red.
Key pieces A lace doily-effect blouse with crochet skirt was key, as was a ponyskin-panelled skirt and top with sheer underskirt and sleeves.
Commercial appeal Rodarte made traditional silhouettes look modern through the use of panelling and contemporary cutting on double-collared overcoats and cutaway details. Knitted panelled jumpers in the neutral colour palette were the most commercial, with cutaway-collared blouses a sure trend for the fashion forward.
