The signature easy sporty volume and soft femininity were missing from Stella McCartney’s latest collection. Instead, the designer played with the concept of clean modern minimalism through sparse lines, simple silhouettes and an emphasis on stealth-wealth luxury. McCartney’s slickly tailored coats, with their notched revers, offered the only form of decorative detailing. A-line shift dresses and tunic tops had a vaguely early 1960s feel. A-line macs and a fabric-blocked parka were more in keeping with McCartney’s signature look.
