Stella McCartney

Spring 11

The look Soft, wearable tailoring in a sherbet palette was the lynchpin of Stella McCartney’s collection alongside a boxy-cut denim story.

Key pieces Tailored jackets were oversized and were softly tailored in pistachio and cream. Trousers were sleek and slim, and sat high on the waist with front creases. A navy, silk, front-button tunic dress stood out.

Commercial appeal The collection’s soft tailoring will appeal due to the easy shapes shown. A commitment to tropical prints was first seen at Prada this season (as were boxy, scrub-like tunics), so citrus fruit can now be added to the list of hot spring 11 prints alongside palm leaves and monkeys.

Footwear and accessories Accessories barely featured other than a bizarre yellow cap and glasses set. Shoes were flat and rustic with raffia soles.
