Tommy Hilfiger

Spring 11

The look Tommy Hilfiger celebrated its 25th anniversary at its spring 11 catwalk show, and the all-American label played to its strengths with a preppy, country club collection, including jumpers draped over women’s shoulders and golfing-style trousers for men.

Key pieces For women, cropped piped blazers and shift tops were teamed with high-waisted skater skirts or wide-leg trousers. Slouchy city shorts and bandeau tops were part of a collection dominated by separates. There were both single and doubled-breasted long-line jackets for men.

Colours The all-American red, white and blue was interspersed with a bright and breezy mix of yellow and meadow green.

Commercial appeal The collection played on the label’s strengths of tennis sweaters and easy-to-wear separates, which the Tommy Hilfiger customer will know and love but which are unlikely to heavily influence wider trends.
