Tommy Hilfiger

The look The typically Tommy preppy look influenced by 1960s pop art with a sophisticated twist.

Key pieces Boxy, unstructured outerwear was covered in plaid or colour blocked with contrast collars, and leather jackets also looked fresh. Simple wide-cut shift and shirt dresses had a 1960s look. Statement oversized kaftans and maxi-length tunics with diagonal colour-block stripes sat alongside sexy jumpsuits with plunging necklines and a tuxedo collar.

Colours Primary shades updated traditional plaids and abstract camouflage prints, while saturated yellow, orange, purple and blue sat alongside maroon and khaki.

Commercial appeal The abstract camouflage-covered pieces might be a step too far for the traditional Hilfiger customer. However, versions of the oversized kaftan tunics will be scattered across the high street next spring.
